Mefford Money

"Given to great kids for doing great things!"

This year my first graders will have the opportunity to earn Mefford Money.  Mefford Money is a reinforcer that is given to students when they meet our classroom expectations or they are caught following classroom rules without reminders.

Here are the basics for Mefford Money:
  • The amount of money a child can earn in a day is unlimited.  Mefford Money cannot be taken away and will not be given to students for completion of an assignment.
  •  On Thursday afternoons, students will have the opportunity to cash in their Mefford Money for rewards to be enjoyed on Friday.
  • Rewards range in price and the rewards will change throughout the year.  Students may decide to save their Mefford Money from week to week or cash it in on Thursday.
 Rewards for Mefford Money
  • Show and Tell
  • Lunch with a friend in our classroom
  • Swip Swap-sit by a friend for the day
  • SMART Board-draw on the SMART board for 10 minutes
  • Lunch with Mrs. Mefford
  • Bubble Blower-blow bubbles during recess
  • Fluffy Friend-bring a stuffed animal to school for the day
