All week we have been scientists and have used several skills scientists use. We created a volcano and we all
predicted what would happen. After I baked the volcano, we
observed it again,
measured it with a ruler and with blocks, and we
compared it to the world around us. After we recorded all of these important facts, we
observed the volcano again. I combined baking soda, water, red food coloring, poured this into a cup and put the cup in the volcano and added vinegar. The rest was amazing! Red liquid came out of the top and went down the sides, much to the enjoyment of 18 first graders!
